To design a family home that reflects rooted Indian values through a modern architectural lens — serene, light-filled, and deeply connected to craft, nature, and ritual.
Architecture and full interior design including spatial planning, lighting, furniture design, material palette, and spiritual space detailing.
Concept
Rahul Patil’s Bungalow is envisioned as a contemporary Indian home that honors both heritage and simplicity. The design flows from the sacred to the social — beginning at the Tulsi courtyard and moving inward into spaces for rest, reflection, and gathering. Each area is crafted to hold warmth, humility, and modern clarity.
Vision
To create a timeless residence where cultural symbolism and modern design coexist in harmony. The project aims to evoke comfort, lightness, and devotion — a home that feels both grounded and graceful.
Inspirations
Traditional courtyard homes, basalt stone temples of Maharashtra, woven cane lights, and the soft play of daylight on pale lime walls.
Design Philosophy
At Nirmanam, every home is an act of reverence — to light, proportion, and craft. This bungalow distills that belief into architecture that breathes. Natural textures, sculptural lighting, and hand-finished details evoke spiritual stillness while remaining unapologetically modern.
Execution
The residence unfolds through a meditative rhythm of materials — warm beige stone, matte white walls, and cane-textured lighting. The Tulsi Vrindavan at the entrance becomes the spiritual heart of the home, symbolizing continuity and calm. Interiors feature clean lines softened by fabric, clay tones, and golden light. Hand-carved stone reliefs of divine figures and botanical motifs bring sacred art into everyday spaces. The ceiling is layered in timber and ambient light, tying every room together with warmth and depth.
“More than a home, it’s a reflection of faith and tranquility. Every light, texture, and corner feels purposeful — simple yet soulful.”
